The WaterMaker Mini will produce approximately 20 gallons per day depending upon the feed water pressure, water temperature and TDS (total dissolved solids).
What is the best way to use the WaterMaker Mini?
Connect your WaterMaker Mini to the faucet when you have some time to fill a drinking water container. Many customers like to connect the WaterMaker Mini in the early evening after dinner and give the system enough time to fill a 2-gallon container before disconnecting the system and storing it in the refrigerator.
Where should I store the WaterMaker Mini when not in use?
Place the WaterMaker Mini in a clean, plastic bag and store in the refrigerator.
Where does the "pure" (product) water come out?
The product water is delivered from the stainless steel outlet on the system cap (remove the black plastic cover and attach a length of tubing to deliver the water into an appropriate container). The water should be a slow stream or steady drip.
Why is there a stream of water coming out of the bottom of the unit?
The water coming out of the bottom of the unit is the concentrated brine or wastewater. It is made up of anything the membrane rejects plus a portion of the tap water that works as a carrier. Normal flow from the brine port is a sharp, steady stream.
Is the WaterMaker Mini just for drinking water?
Use the WaterMaker Mini to make water for a variety of uses. Use the product water to make coffee and tea, ice and anything else that would benefit from the use of purified water.
How long can I store drinking water?
Purified drinking water can be stored in clean, capped containers can be stored for months. Be careful to use BPA-free containers such as glass or plastic with the recycle codes 1, 2, 4, and 5. However, because the taste will become "flat" after extended storage, periodic replacement is recommended. If possible, store water in a refrigerator or other cool area.
Will using the water produced by my WaterMaker Mini make clear ice cubes?
Commercially made ice is stirred as it is frozen to remove air bubbles; household ice is not. Without mixing, many more ice crystals form and air is trapped in the ice. These bubbles and crystals distort light rays, thus giving home-frozen ice a cloudy appearance. To minimize the cloudy appearance, fill your ice cube trays with WaterMaker Mini product water, let them stand on the counter for 10 minutes or so, and place in the freezer. Your ice cubes will be noticeably clearer, harder and better tasting!
